CHOICE OF TEE COLORS
March 2010
All of the MGA competitions are conducted from the white tees. Except for a few special exceptions, competitors can play from the black tees under the following conditions:
1) The golfer must have at least five (5) current scores (within the last 20) from the black tees in the handicap computer.
2) The golfer will have his handicap adjusted by the Golf Professional for any competition according to the following formula, black tees, – 2 strokes.
If a player switches to the black tees, he can change back to the white tees, provided that:
1) He has at least five (5) current scores (within the last 20) in the handicap computer from the white tees, and,
2) At least six months have elapsed since the last change in tee color choice.
Once all of the requirements are met, a player must inform the Golf Professional of any new choice of tee color.
The golf scorecards reflect the course handicaps for the various holes for both white and black tees.
Any questions should be directed to the current chair of the Rules and Handicap Subcommittee of the MGA Competition Committee.
