CONDUCT OF THE ANNUAL HALLOWEEN CLASSIC

March, 2010

Game:

THE TOURNAMENT IS A TEAM COMPETITION, BUT THOSE IN YOUR FOURSOME ARE NOT YOUR TEAMMATES, FOR THIS DAY, THEY ARE YOUR OPPONENTS. There will be four teams: the skulls, the witches, the goblins, and the skeletons as assigned by the Pro Shop. Each foursome will have one member from each team. Make up your own foursomes or the pro shop will make up or fill out foursomes.

Format:

A modified net skins game. In a foursome, the player with the best net score for each hole will receive a point for his team. No points for ties, and no carryovers. To speed up play, if you are on the green and your putt will NOT result in a skin (point) for your team, or a tie for low net, pick your ball up. Section 4-1 of the USGA Handicapping Manual states that a player who starts, but does not complete a hole or is conceded a stroke MUST record the most likely score for handicapping purposes.  This score may not exceed the players Equitable Stroke Control (ESC) limit.  The definition of most likely score (4-1/1) is this:  ÒA judgment that each player must make is based on the playersÕ own game.  It consists of number of strokes taken already PLUS, in the players' best judgment, the number of stokes needed to complete the hole from that position more than 1/2 of the time.  Of course, also pick up if you have reached your Equitable Stroke Control limit. There is no par for this tournament.

Prizes:

The team with the highest number of points will win and will split the sweeps evenly.

Tees:

This event will be from the white tees. Those eligible to play from the black tees (five (5) current scores from the black tees in the handicap computer) should do so. Black tee players will have their handicaps adjusted by the Golf Professional.
