ROSEDALE MEN’S GOLF ASSOCIATION
BOARD/MEMBERSHIP ANNUAL MEETING
November 15, 2008
Following the MGA’s event today, Joe Zickert - President - hosted today’s Annual Meeting.
George Kelby and Clark
McClelland are currently carried on injured reserved status.
Carl Koenig has agreed to provide support for the
MGA website (www.rosedalemga.org). Bob Young has
handled this in the past - membership appreciation for Bob’s support was expressed
with a standing "o".
The hole-in-one parade continues; Sonny Greene at
River Strand hole #2 on Oct. 26th, Don Mcllwain
at Rosedale hole #17 on Nov. 1st, Gary Bruce on hole #7 on Nov. 2nd,
Chad Curry on hole #7 on Nov. 14th, and Tom Moore on hole #4 also on
Nov. 14th.
Joe reminded members that sign-up for the March 7th
Ryder Cup is underway - event cost is $150 which includes two for dinner. Forms
are available in the pro shop. Also, members should be sending their MGA
renewal form and check ($45) to Clark McClelland. Forms are in the MGA sign-up
book.
Joe thanked Rick Earle for accepting the chair
position for the 2009 Member-Guest event scheduled for April 4th.
Rick would appreciate any volunteer support.
Joe presented the following trophies for two 2008
events:
President Cup – Runner-up ...........Bill Fridlington
President Cup – Champion ............Dan Carter
Member- Member – Runner-up .....Chad Curry and Bob Ponchak
Member-Member – Champion .......Gerry Christenson
and Carl Binder
Kevin Killoran presented
the results of this year’s election for the two open MGA Board positions. Jim Lamy was nominated for Vice President and John McLaughlin
for the Board and he has agreed to serve as Treasurer. There being no
additional nominations, Kevin called for a vote by acclamation - the motion was
seconded and carried.
The MGA Board positions for 2009 will be as
follows:
President ............ Ron Boehm
Vice President ... Jim Lamy
Treasurer ............John McLaughlin
Secretary .............Bob Tragnitz
Joe noted the following upcoming MGA events; Dec.
13th Beat the Pro and day #1 of Jan. 10th Shoot-Out
qualifier. The top five low net scores from Dec. 13th along with the
top five from Jan 10th qualify. Members were reminded of the Gold
Tee scramble on Jan 1st. Info will be forthcoming. The Memorial
event and lunch is also scheduled for Jan. 10th. Along with being
second day of qualifying for the ten man Shoot-Out,
the Jan 10th event will also be the President’s Cup qualifier.
The next scheduled Membership/Board meeting will
be Dec. 13th following that date’s event.
