POSTING OF SCORES FOR HANDICAP PURPOSES

March 2010

1.       Post all scores, home and away (using the away course rating and slope), using the computer in the Pro Shop or Golfnet (see the link on the RMGA website <www.rosedalemga.org>).

2.       If you play at least thirteen (13) holes, you must post an 18-hole score. For the holes you did not complete, add the par for the hole, plus the course handicap strokes you have been given on that hole. This is the 18-hole score you must post.

3.       If you play at least seven (7) holes, you must post a 9-hole score, using the computation method in Number 2 above. You must indicate which nine, front or back, you played. If you only play nine (9) holes, you must post a 9-hole score. Be sure to indicate which nine, front or back, you played.

4.       Your Equitable Stroke Control (ESC) limit is based on the table below:

Handicap

Max. strokes on any hole

9 or less

Double Bogey

10-19

7

20-29

8

30-39

9

40+

10

5.       If you pick up your ball on any hole, you must still post a score. On those holes, you must estimate your score if you had finished out the hole. This number cannot be greater than your ESC limit.

6.       According to the USGA Handicapping System: ÒTwo basic premises underlie the USGA Handicap System, namely that each player will try to make the best score at every hole in every round, regardless of where the round is played, and that the player will post every acceptable round for peer review.Ó

7.       You must post scores in Match Play (see the RMGS Policy on how to score a match play event on the RMGA website, <www.rosedalemga.org>) as well as in formats in which you are requested to pick up your ball.

8. The Rules and Handicap Subcommittee of the RMGA Competition Committee will audit scorecards to assess compliance with this policy. Nonconformity will result in a written communication to the nonconforming member.
