GUEST POLICY

April 14, 2009

Definition

RMGA Guest: Any male who is not a member of the RMGA who is invited to play golf with a RMGA member.

RMGA policy does not take into account the definitions of the word ÒguestÓ as created and defined by the Rosedale Golf and Country Club. Their rules regarding eligibility for guest privileges or for charges associated with golf play are under the authority of the Rosedale Golf and Country Club.

RMGA sanctioned events:

Currently, RMGA sanctioned events that relate to this policy are Wednesday morning competitions, Quota Point competitions on Fridays, and once a month RMGA play dates on Saturdays as published in the RMGA events calendar available on the <rosedalemga.org> website.

RMGA members play in various other competitions throughout the week that may be limited to RMGA members as specified by the policy of the Rosedale Golf and Country Club (RGCC). This policy is not intended for those golf outings. Individuals who organize those outings have their own rules regarding guest participation, that are also subject to RGCC rules.

Overview: The RMGA recognizes that Florida is a golf destination and many RMGA members would like visiting non-members to play with them at Rosedale. This policy is designed to offer guest play without requiring confirmation of golf handicaps to assure fair play for all participants of the competition. The RMGA also recognizes that occasional guest play should not unduly interfere or preclude play by MGA members in RMGA competitions. If frequent guest play interferes with RMGA member play, this policy will be revised to prevent guest play for all competitions.

Wednesdays and Saturdays: The difficulty in permitting guest play during team competitions on Wednesdays and Saturdays is that handicaps are difficult to verify and many guests do not have official handicaps. The scoring of events with guests becomes very problematical. Therefore, the only competition on Wednesdays and Saturdays that guests can play is the Member-Guest competition held annually. RMGA members with guests are encouraged to obtain tee times outside of those competitions by using their 7- day advance reservation privilege.

              Quota Points Competition:

The Friday morning Quota Points competition is an individual competition. Given that outside tee times are difficult to obtain on Fridays, a RMGA member may have up to one guest for Quota Points as long as that guest plays in the same foursome. Guests neither compete in the official Quota Points competition, nor are they eligible for prizes related to proximity awards (closest to the pin). There are no charges for guest play other than those levied by the Rosedale Golf and Country Club.
